He believes that the construction of public buildings and infrastructure using these public facilities and infrastructure obligations will improve the functioning of Jakarta's ecosystem.
"I said earlier that constructing is easy, but maintenance is often the problem. Therefore, I specifically ask the district head and his staff to really take good care of this," he said.
The Governor considered the Kebayoran Baru District office building highly representative of the South Jakarta region. Therefore, he requested that public services be improved and facilitated.
"Our task is to provide easier, simpler, better services to the community," he added.
In addition to inaugurating the Kebayoran Baru District office building, Governor Pramono also inaugurated two reservoirs, namely the Pemuda Reservoir in Srengseng Sawah and the Jagakarsa Reservoir.
The Pemuda Reservoir has a catchment area of 374.73 hectares, while the Jagakarsa Reservoir has a catchment area of 561 hectares. According to him, the presence of both reservoirs can reduce flood debit by around 10-20 percent.
South Jakarta Mayor, M Anwar stated the construction of the Kebayoran Baru District office building is part of the settlement of the remaining obligations still owed by PT Danayasa Arthatama.
The Kebayoran Baru District office building consists of five floors including a basement, and has supporting facilities and infrastructure such as air conditioning, generators, fire pumps, lifts, and other utility and mechanical electrical facilities.
"It is hoped that the construction of the new district office building will further improve services to residents in Kebayoran Baru District," he stated.
Meanwhile, the construction of the Jagakarsa Reservoir and the Pemuda Reservoir was carried out to strengthen the flood control system, conserve water resources, and provide public spaces that are beneficial to the community.
The Jagakarsa Reservoir will reduce flooding in neighborhood units (RW) 05 and 06 of Lenteng Agung Urban Village and reduce water debit from the Mampang River to the Krukut River. The reservoir has a water holding capacity of 13,692 cubic meters and a catchment area of 561 hectares.
Meanwhile, the Pemuda Reservoir was built to reduce the potential for flooding in the Srengseng Sawah Urban Village area with a capacity of 34,872 cubic meters and a catchment area of 374.73 hectares.
In addition to being a means of controlling flooding and inundation, these two reservoirs also function as a means of water conservation, green open space, and public facilities that can be used by the public for playing, recreation, and exercise.
"We hope that the existence of the Pemuda Satu Reservoir and Jagakarsa Reservoir can provide great benefits to the people of South Jakarta," he hoped.
